fusion mooncakes

Last night we celebrated 中秋节 Zhong Qiu Jie, or Mid-Autumn Festival.Image.

Here are the girls with our stash of traditional Mid-Autumn Festival goodies . . . dates, kumquats, oranges, a pomegranate, and of COURSE . . . mooncakes!

Mooncakes are fun in concept, but not really a huge favorite of any of the Wickershams.  (And after our impromptu moon-gazing gathering, I learned that they’re not the first choice of some of our other western friends, either.) But at breakfast this morning, Grace and I discovered a new way to enjoy our cakes:

A bit of Skippy and Hershey’s makes everything better.
